Signing out and deleting your account
Updated
These are two different things, and only one of them is reversible.
Signing out
Signing a device out of Stealward erases Stealward from that device: every downloaded recording on it, the encryption keys it holds, and its link to your account.
Your account and your sessions stay. You can sign back in, or link the device again later — but the downloads and keys on it are gone for good, so anything you want to keep should be moved into Photos or shared elsewhere first.
Find it at the bottom of Me. You’ll be asked to press and hold to confirm, because it can’t be undone.
Deleting your account
Deleting your account removes everything, on every device:
- Your account — profile, plan, and settings
- Every linked device, signed out and erased
- Every past session and its history
- Every recording in your encrypted vault
Find it in Me › Account & subscription. As with signing out, you press and hold to confirm.
There’s a grace period
Deletion doesn’t happen the instant you ask. Stealward schedules it and shows you the date it completes. Until then you can cancel it from any signed-in device, and every device on your account is told the deletion is pending. After that date it’s permanent, and we can’t recover any of it — we never held the keys.
Two things to do first
Stop any running session. Stealward won’t schedule a deletion while a session is active. End it and try again.
Cancel your subscription separately. Deleting your Stealward account does not cancel an App Store subscription, and you’ll keep being billed. Cancel it in Settings › Apple Account › Subscriptions first.
Which one do you want?
- Selling or giving away a device, or clearing it off a shared machine — sign out.
- Leaving Stealward entirely — delete your account (after cancelling any subscription).
