Checking in while a session runs

An alert tells you something happened. Checking in tells you what it was.
The live view
Open Stealward on the device you kept with you, tap the running session, and you’re looking through the watching device’s camera. It opens in about a second on a good connection, and it’s encrypted the whole way — our servers pass it along without being able to watch it.
This is the fastest way to answer the only question that matters when an alert lands: is that a thief, or a waiter wiping the table?

The lock-screen readout
While a session runs you also get a compact readout on the lock screen of the device carrying the alerts — whether the watcher is online, whether it’s on power, and which network it’s on. It updates continuously, so you can glance without unlocking anything.

The preview pausing is normal
To save power, the live video preview pauses on its own after a while. The session keeps guarding. Sensors, alarm, AI Watchdog, and alerts all stay active whether or not anyone is watching the feed. Tap to resume it whenever you like.
If the live view won’t open
- The stream stopped. The session may have ended while you were watching. If it recorded, you can open the recording instead.
- “We couldn’t reach the stream.” Usually your own connection. Try again once you’re back on a stable network.
- Nothing at all: check the watching device is still online. If it’s gone dark, you’ll have had an alert about it already.
Watching further back
