Alerts aren't arriving

Alerts go to the devices you picked when you armed. If one isn’t getting them, work down this list.

Is it picked as an alert device?

Being signed in isn’t enough — a device has to be selected on the Protect screen when you arm. Check the device list there and make sure the one you’re carrying is chosen. You can pick more than one.

In Me › Devices, a device that’s ready reads Ready for alerts. One that isn’t reads Not set up for alerts.

Are notifications allowed on it?

This is the usual answer. Open Me › Permissions on the device that should be receiving alerts and check Notifications. If it was recently allowed, give it a moment — registration isn’t instant, and Stealward will tell you if it still can’t get through.

Alerts arrive, but not on silent

That’s the critical alerts permission. Without it, Stealward’s security alerts follow your normal notification settings, which means silent mode and Do Not Disturb will hold them back. You’re asked for it when you set up alerts; if you declined, you can allow it in system settings for Stealward.

Routine updates — a session ending, a device coming back online — always follow your normal settings by design. Only security alerts cut through.

If the device you’re carrying is a Mac

A Mac shows alerts while the Stealward app is running. If you quit the app, alerts stop arriving there. Leave it open, or carry an iPhone or iPad as your alert device instead.

On a Mac, critical alerts also need to be allowed before Stealward can bypass mute and Focus. In System Settings › Notifications › Stealward, make sure notifications and critical alerts are allowed.

Check the watcher is still watching

If the watching device went offline entirely, you should have received an alert about that — but if it lost power at the same moment, there may have been nothing to send it with. Open Stealward and look at the session: if the watcher shows as offline, the session may have ended when the device did.
